When you’re not out hunting, comfort and relaxation are the top priority for our guests. All five of our guest rooms have flat-screen TVs and private bathrooms and all of our accommodations are handicap accessible.
You will also enjoy a mix of home-style cooking by our staff here at Big Cove Whitetails. The kitchen and refrigerator are fully stocked with snacks and beverages for your personal enjoyment; not to mention good old-fashioned hospitality and plenty of big buck stories to be shared on our large, southern-style porch.
There is plenty to do around the lodge when we’re not hunting for both the hunters and their families. We have a private trout stream and a private pond on the property that are stocked with trout. Relax and have a cold beverage next to the fire and make new friends with the staff and fellow hunters.

Plan Your HuntTake in the rugged beauty of the Appalachian Mountains home to not only trophy deer, but turkeys, foxes, raccoons, squirrels, groundhogs, as well as an occasional black bear. The views are not only breathtaking, but the dense hardwood forests will make it an enjoyable hunt for you. As you’re trekking along the deer trails, you’ll notice scrapes and rubs; many of them fresh. The rustic beauty of the woods gives way to creeks and cool streams, which run into ponds throughout the ranch.
Having worked for one of America's top 20 Hospitals where I served US Presidential families, foreign royalty, celebrities, and dignitaries from around the world, I discovered my love of cooking and developed culinary skills. Coming out of retirement, I brought my love of cooking and skills to Big Cove, giving me the chance of a lifetime to prepare great food and drinks for hunters from all over. Combining my favorite pastimes of deer hunting in the Texas Hill Country, fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, and cooking Southern Tex Mex comfort food, coming to Big Cove was a perfect fit for me.
